"I have chosen to paint my sister Eva because she has a true sense of self and no-one can tell her how to think. When she smiles she lights up the room, but this piece captures her more thoughtful side – the one that people don’t see as often – against a backdrop of playful colours. I chose acrylic paint on canvas paper because it allowed me to create both a soft blended finish for her face and contrasting playful brushstrokes for the background. I think she looks beautiful".
